Fons Merkies

Fons is a composer and arranger for film, television and (musical) theatre. He attended the Kleinkunst Academy in Amsterdam and subsequently studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory. He has composed music for dozens of well-known feature films, musicals and television productions. Among other things, he wrote the scores for TV series such as All Stars and feature films such as Het Diner, De Tweeling and Tonio. Fons received a Golden Calf for the film Boy Ecury (2003). In 2021 he received the Buma Oeuvre Award Multimedia for his body of work. Since 2011, Fons and Laurens have been working together and have had the pleasure of providing music for countless productions. Their recent compositional work includes the music for the series Màxima and the feature film Rocco & Sjuul.
